The Opportunity
TC Energy is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Calgary, Alberta to support our efforts in Energy Problem Solving and our daily operations.
We are seeking students enrolled in a Bachelor of Communications specializing in Public Relations or Journalism or Bachelor of Business specializing in Marketing. In this role, you'll join our Corporate Communications team, supporting internal communications. Our team provides consistent, timely, and accurate communications support and resources to our business partners across the organization. Along the way, you'll share our commitment to continuous learning, improvement and process efficiency.
We engage our Communications students in the very core of our operations. As a valued member of the team, you'll do exciting, challenging work, solve real world problems, and make a meaningful impact. You'll learn about the business and build your professional network by working closely with other skilled people at TC Energy. Every day will enhance your knowledge, skills and passion for what you do..
The term length is 12 months.
What you'll do
Prioritize, troubleshoot, and escalate incoming communication requests
Activate our communications playbook by maintaining self-serve tools, templates, and guidance documents and sharing with our internal business partners
Assess, review, edit, and advise on internal communications plans and content
Manage and publish content on our internal communication channels - for example, intranet news and announcements, weekly leader briefing newsletter, and corporate-wide emails
Be involved on project teams for corporate events such as town halls and CEO employee forums
Collaborate and liaise with the broader communications team - for example, brand and digital specialists
Minimum Qualifications
Actively enrolled in a Bachelor of Communications, or related Program, with at least one semester of education complete
Enrollment at an accredited university, and returning to school for at least one semester following your work term
Exhibit a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting
Must exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives: safety, responsibility, integrity, innovation and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment
Committed to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity
Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities
Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills
Reflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal development
Intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Office applications
Comfortable with web-based technology for managing incoming service requests and publishing communications
