What will be your daily pursuit?

The Sales Manager, Travel Trade, is responsible for expanding our international sales efforts, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth in the Banff Jasper Collection. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager, Travel Trade will collaborate closely with the Travel Trade Sales Team, and other Pursuit stakeholders, to develop sales strategies and tactics, manage accounts, negotiate contracts, identify opportunities for growth, and provide ongoing support to ensure mutual success. This role extends beyond sales—it's about linking diverse Travel Trade clients with the iconic experiences awaiting their guests in the Canadian Rockies, while being a brand ambassador for the larger Pursuit Collection.

What will you do in this job?

  • Manage a portfolio of existing clients while actively seeking new business opportunities for the Banff Jasper Collection.
  • Attend client meetings, events, tradeshows, familiarization trips, and sales missions to foster engagement, train on Pursuit's offerings, and secure new partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including channel marketing, revenue maximization, reservations, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and deliver exceptional client and guest experiences.
  • Build strong internal partnerships and leverage critical thinking to drive business success.
  • Negotiate contractual agreements with partners, including pricing, allocation, terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Analyze market trends and report on business climate and client feedback to drive strategies, growth and product development.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Track all sales activities and maintain records in the client relationship management system.
  • Monitor partner performance and develop action plans to optimize sales and achieve targets.
  • Generate sales reports, manage budgets, and provide business forecasts to support sales operations.
  • Track sales metrics, market share, and partner performance to evaluate effectiveness of strategies.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • At least 2 years' experience in sales, account management, or business development within the travel industry, preferably on the supplier side.
  • Strong understanding of travel distribution channels, including tour operators, and wholesalers is an asset.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including experience using Salesforce or other CRMs.
  • Experience in project management is an asset.
  • Strong experience using essential MS Office tools such as Excel, Outlook, PPT, Word, Teams required.
  • Must be willing and able to travel and attend various in-person events, sales missions, and tradeshows, both within Canada and internationally, as required.
