Position Summary:

The Special Process Quality Engineer is responsible for implementation, adaptation and maintenance of Special Processes (such as Aluminum Heat Treat, Chemical Processing, NDT, Coatings, Welding and Cable Swaging) to company and customers' specifications.

Please note that this is a temporary position for a duration of 6 months.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Advise state of all NADCAP requirements/revision as they may occur
  • Perform internal audits and issue requests for preventative or corrective action
  • Review and implement, as required, corrective actions for third party NADCAP audits
  • Coordinate all process testing activities (processing and testing of coupons)
  • Gap analysis of new customer requirements
  • Determine any need for instruments/equipment, request quotes and raise P/O requisition
  • Monitor purchasing for equipment/maintenance
  • Support process planning
  • Oversee all quality and process requirements
  • Ensure use of proper equipment
  • Develop and prepare procedures/work instructions
  • Prepare training material and supply training as needed
  • Statistical/trend analysis of data
  • Implementation and support of a Continuous Improvement program (CPI)

Qualifications:

  • Technical 2-year engineering related certification is a requirement
  • Experience implementing NADCAP requirements
  • Familiarity with special process requirements, such as requirements for Heat Treat of Aluminum, Chemical Processing, NDT, Coatings, Welding, etc.
  • Experience with quality system implementation
  • Experience with the aspects related to the performance of audits (quality system, process and product)
  • Ability to complete a criminal background check
  • Must have and maintain the ability to legally work in Canada
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
