Position Summary
The student Tax Analyst will be appointed a mentor and will support all members of the tax team in a variety of tax related tasks such as return preparation, rebates, research, recovery, and audits. This is a great opportunity for a future tax professional as the student may get exposure to a wide variety of tax types in many different tax jurisdictions.

Note: This is a 4-month term.
Key Deliverables
This opportunity will present learning opportunities in the following disciplines:
US corporate income tax compliance, including tax research and documenting tax positions
Various tax recovery projects such as provincial sales tax, GST/HST/QST, and international VAT
Various tax rebates such as fuel taxes and excise taxes
Providing responses to various audit requests from tax authorities
Various ad hoc requests and projects from members of the tax team
Various accounting tasks relating to tax such as preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reasonability analysis (ie. accuracy, completeness)
Other taxes such as airline ticket, lodging, digital services, and payroll taxes
Education & Business Acumen
Enrolled in an applicable University program with 2 years+ completed towards your bachelor's degree/or new graduate in accounting with an interest in a tax career
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills including exceptional planning and organizational skills
Must be analytical and have effective problem-solving skills
Technical Skills
The candidate should posses the following technical skills:
Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word is required
Ability to work with large sets of data
Basic understanding of accounting concepts, financial reporting, and taxation
Experience with accounting software or tax preparation software is an asset but not a requirement
Our Tax Analyst Coop opportunity will offer exposure in:
JDE Accounting software
CRA represent a client
Tax research & documentation such as writing memos
Understanding controls and processes ensuring our tax affairs are conducted in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations of the respective jurisdictions we operate in.
