Position Summary:

Position: Labourer

Type: Seasonal

Location: CNRL Horizon - Common Services

Schedule: 7 days on/ 7 days off

Compensation Details:

  • Vacation pay at 6% - paid out bi-weekly upon start date

Role Summary:

As a labourer you will provide general support to site operations and be responsible for general duties as required by supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Flagging for road maintenance.
  • Spot for equipment.
  • Pothole repairs.
  • Assist with ground repairs.
  • Grass and weed cutting.
  • Perform housekeeping functions.
  • Responsible for (garbage) clean up around site.
  • Build and install signage when required.
  • Guard rail installation.
  • Responsible for assisting with maintenance of walkways, roadways and other areas.
  • Paint if/when required.
  • Maintain and store tools properly.
  • Set up pumps and hoses for de-watering.
  • Pressure washer and clean equipment.
  • Operate skid steer as required.
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers and other employees.
  • Fueling equipment and or generators/light plants.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.


    Education & Experience:

    • Job requirements are listed below:
      • Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required
      • Clean 5-year Driver Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is required
      • One of the following basic Safety Orientations are required:
      • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
      • Safety conscious attitude
      • Must be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditions
      • Must be comfortable working in close proximity to water
      • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test
        • Applicants are required to be clean shaven for testing and beyond
      • All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
      • All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
    • The following would be an asset to your application:
      • WHMIS 2015 Certification is an asset
      • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification is an asset
      • Ground Disturbance Certification is an asset
      • First Aid Certification is an asset
      • H2S Alive Certification is an asset
      • ATV/UTV Certification is an asset
      • Chainsaw Certification is an asset
