Nakiska Winter Sports School Supervisor 2024/25

Wage: Earn up to $25.75/hr based on certification and experience.

Position Overview:

· To support all aspects of the Winter Sports School operation.

· Ensure the consistency and high level of staff well-being.

· Support the quality control of the guest experience.

Key Areas of Knowledge:

· Abide by policy and procedures as outlined in the Nakiska Resort Staff Handbook.

· Abide by policy and procedures as outlined in the Winter Sports School Orientation Training.

· Adhere to Nakiska Resort health and safety polices and incident /hazard reporting system

· Excellent knowledge of services and products offered by the snow school.

· In-depth knowledge of resort services and snow school operations.

· A strong knowledge of Canadian ski &/or snowboard instruction practices, (CSIA, CASI) is an asset, not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

· Be willing to accept all assignments that fit within your level of qualification and position in the Winter Sports School.

· Consistently present and maintain a neat, clean and tidy appearance and a professional image as a role model to all staff.

· Provide a superior level of guest service and mountain safety to all visitors and staff.

· Work with Senior Management to sustain and develop the quality of the snow school.

· Fulfill all duties delegated by the leadership team.

· Ensure performance goals are set and met in a timely manner.

· Organize and provide training and guidance to all instructors.

· Organize and delegate duties to Instructors, Daily Lead staff and Sales staff.

· Provide support, guidance and feedback to instructors and sales staff in a manner that is supportive, encouraging and promotes achievement within their role.

· Ensure that the staff are fulfilling their daily duties at set standards

· Prepare and deliver morning meetings for Instructors

· Provide clear communication with staff and guests via face to face, email and phone.

Key Skills:

· Have a strong work ethic with individual and team orientated work

· Active listening and effective communication skills

· Have a positive attitude, be punctual, reliable and responsible.

· Previous supervising experience preferred.

· Minimum level 1 internationally recognized qualification(s) in ski &/or snowboard instruction preferred.

· I.T skills essential; experience with email accounts, office, computer-based booking systems.

· Experience with money handling and cash out procedures preferred.
