QA Technician (4-month contract)

The QA Technician will collect samples, test, and take appropriate action, when necessary, this position reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and interacts daily with the Shift Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Operators.

Responsibilities

  • Collect samples from the process line and test every hour.
  • Process samples in the analytical laboratory.
  • Take appropriate and immediate action when product is found to be outside specifications.
  • Communicate all results and observations to QA supervisor in a clear and timely manner.
  • General housekeeping of the lab area.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate actions.
  • Commitment to Quality System Policy.
  • Document data in the required system.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 educations
  • Post secondary education in a food related discipline an asset
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to coordinate and cooperate with members of other departments.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision.
  • Proven ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
