Safran Landing Systems (SLS) is seeking a motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented individual to lead the local site Configuration Management (CM) activities as a member of a new global team implementing CM across the whole of SLS.
Configuration Management activities are found within all the functions: Engineering (Design & Analysis, Systems, Systems Architecture, Test), Programs, Production and Customer Services. The successful candidate will use their CM expertise to guide the implementation of CM best practices in the Engineering function, while also providing CM related assistance to the other functions on the Toronto site. This role is based in our Toronto facility and reports to the Global CM Manager based in France.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead the implementation of CM processes and best practices at the Toronto site.
• Provide CM expertise and guidance to Toronto personnel throughout the development cycle (design, development, production, in-service).
• Coordinate CM process issue resolution and manage the related internal communication.
• Prepare and maintain CM processes documents (including CM plans) for the many different aerospace programs.
• Oversee the training, promotion and oversight of the CM processes at the site level.
• Support and contribute to the global SLS Expert network.
• Work closely with members of the global CM team (based in France and UK) to ensure consistency of CM activities between sites and to share knowledge.
• Ensure new CM processes for SLS are consistent with Safran Group objectives while complying with requirements of the different civil and military programs on the site.
• Work with the PLM support network to ensure efficient deployment of our new CM tool.
Candidate Experience
Technical Skills:
• A minimum of 5 years experience in Configuration, Data or Process Management (experience may be in Engineering, Quality, Data Science or similar careers)
• Knowledge of CM operations, procedures and activities is a definite asset.
• Facility with document/data management system tools such as TeamCentre PDM/PLM is an asset.
• Experience in planning activity and risk management principles.
• Experience in aviation or other regulated industries is an asset.
• Computer literacy.
