Fraser Health and the Burnaby Hospital Emergency Physicians Group are seeking Emergency Physicians for full time and part time work. We are a high volume well supported department in a multicultural community close to downtown Vancouver. This is a well remunerated practice with stable and supportive colleagues. We are affiliated with UBC medical school as a popular Emergency Department rotation.
Burnaby Hospital is a 285 bed hospital offering medical, surgical, tertiary palliative care, psychiatry, as well as 24/7 emergency services with nearly 85,000 visits annually.
Redevelopment Project- Burnaby Hospital redevelopment is a multi-year project occurring in two phases that will transform almost every area of the hospital. Phase one estimated date of completion in 2025 which include a mental health and substance use unit, maternity unit, neonatal ICU and new medicine unit.
In 2025 phase 1 completion will give the Emergency department a new acute care and psychiatry area and significant expansion of rapid assessment zone size. We have dedicated code blue coverage and a triage physician. Our consultants are collegial and there are outpatient follow up clinics for reassessment and further investigations
The successful candidate must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) certified in Emergency Medicine, or with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP-EM) Emergency trained and certified or ABEM certified. CPSBC US certified class of registration acceptable.
