Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc. is looking to fill the position of Sous Chef, at Cirque Restaurant, Lizard Creek Lodge, Fernie Alpine Resort. Reporting to the Head Chef or manager on duty, the ideal candidate will have previous experience, have a positive attitude, be teamwork-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You Will:

  • Ensure a safe, comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
  • Assist guests at every opportunity
  • Plan and direct food preparation according to resort F&B specifications
  • Follow kitchen systems & principles
  • Promote a safe, sanitized work environment, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, safety and food storage management
  • Keep the kitchen running smoothly, manage challenges quickly and efficiently
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, lead kitchen staff during working hours
  • Be flexible, versatile, and thrive on working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure the highest level of service and guest experience
  • Provide non-stop team work with your teammates and managers
  • Adhere to RCR Policy, Employee Handbook and Safety Management Program

You have:

  • Previous Sous Chef experience (required)
  • Cook training certification (an asset)
  • Food safe certification (an asset, may be obtained upon hire)
  • The ability to demonstrate a positive attitude
