You will:

  • Constant care and maintenance of features.
  • Knowledge of when a feature should be open or closed, ensuring all signage, fencing, and park entrances are in order.
  • Inspecting features to ensure that they are safe for the public.
  • Building take-offs, landings, etc.
  • Making safety the number one priority — knowledge and adherence to the Alpine Responsibility Code and educating the public in the park.
  • Working with other departments, including grooming, lifts and ski patrol.
  • Maintaining a park log that shows daily maintenance for every feature.
  • Ensure that mountain operations are aware of park opening/closing.
  • Conducting rider counts and guarding entrance.
  • Maintaining a clean site.
  • Daily upkeep of all fences, signage, hit markers, features, and everything that falls into the park boundaries.
  • Direct traffic and provide assistance to guests (building locations, conditions, special events, etc.).
  • Ensure signs, ropes, gates and pylons are in place and maintained for guest and staff safety.
  • Perform housekeeping and maintenance duties (garbage removal, shipping, snow removal, etc.).
  • Act as a "Resort Ambassador" to guests by being familiar with various resort products and services.
  • Comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.
  • Work extended & flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays in extreme weather conditions.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

You:

  • Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance or Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors certification - an asset.
  • Freestyle certification - an asset
  • Terrain Park Builders course - an asset
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions, physically capable.
  • Dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic professionals with strong customer service skills
  • Ski industry experience - an asset
  • Good interpersonal skills, working in a team environment.
  • Punctual and reliable a must.
  • Have previous experience in a customer service, maintenance, construction, or related role.
  • Hold a valid class 5 license with a clear driver's abstract.
  • Must be physically able to stand and turn, lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic operations and maintenance of equipment.
  • Are familiar with small power tools (hand drill, etc.).
  • Are an intermediate to advanced skier/snowboarder to access mid-mountain locations.
  • Are team oriented, with a desire to make a positive contribution to the entire resort.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
