Description

To provide front line support to our guests and Community & Family Services team, ensuring smooth service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers phone and receives guests at the door, assisting with general inquiries and providing supports through the flow of our services
  • Maintains confidentiality and keeps accurate guest files and statistical records
  • Works with community ministries worker, under the supervision of CFS leadership, to assist with guest and food bank intake operations
  • May assist with the distribution of food hampers with direction from community ministries worker (casework)
  • Maintains the frozen meal sales menu and ensures it is up to date
  • Organizes frozen meals in display freezer as instructed by food services coordinator
  • Labels and inventories frozen meals
  • Takes orders from customers by phone and online for frozen meal program
  • Documents meal requests for food services coordinator
  • Provides support and supervision to volunteers within community and family services
  • Prepares dining room for events
  • Assures laundry, dishes and floors are maintained by volunteers, as required

  • Collects payment for the sale of meals
  • Receives and receipts donations
  • Monitors and endorses student and community services hours as required
  • Performs other duties as required by immediate supervisor
  • Reports to community ministries coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Some post-secondary certification is an asset (social work, psychology, etc.)
  • FoodSafe certification is an asset

Experience:

  • 1-2 years working the general public/customer service
  • Some experience working with vulnerable population is an asset

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong computer and interpersonal skills are an asset

HOURS: Temporary Contract (3 months), 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 08:30-16:30

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent.
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.
  • A clean drivers abstract.
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
