Financial Planning and Sales Development Training Specialist (12 Month Term)

The Financial Planning and Sales Development Training Specialist will collaborate as an expert advisor with our retail operations and business leadership to identify, design, implement and evaluate learning solutions that enhance sales performance and support the achievement of strategic goals. This role serves as a trusted advisor, forming strategic partnerships in order to design curriculum and facilitate specialized learning on BlueShore's differentiated client experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven Financial Planning/Sales Development background with some experience with learning/training/coaching as part of their previous role(s).

This position will provide a flexible hybrid schedule with approximately two days a week in our corporate office in North Vancouver. The requires availability work on-site to facilitate in-person learning sessions as required.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to assess and identify learning & development needs, and recommend solutions to meet branch, department, or individual learning objectives related to sales skill development, financial planning, client service and/or the delivery of financial advice.
  • Researches, designs, implements, facilitates and evaluates specialized programs, such as the Financial Planning Curriculum, that address and support future talent requirements and all aspects of our approach to building intentional client relationships.
  • Develops and delivers traditional and digital training programs, instructional material and evaluation tools related to sales coaching, sales training and/or practice management.
  • Provide support to Advisory Sales Team members on the delivery of advice and Financial Planning. Activities may include coaching, mentoring and instruction on how to effectively build and nurture intentional client relationships across all aspects of the sales cycle: prospecting/approaching/engaging, discovery, developing/delivering the plan or proposal, and closing/implementing.
  • Participates in related strategic, organizational projects as a subject matter expert, identifying scope, resources, outcomes, communication, and implementation plans.
  • Leads learning for Retail or organization-wide projects by collaborating with stakeholders on gathering requirements to identify business needs to appropriate learning/training solutions. Manages all learning outcomes and deliverables associated with the project such as: scope, milestones, schedule, resources and learning communications
  • Provides input to leadership on Advisory Sales Team member competencies based on their observations in support and training interactions with staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in financial services and with financial planning strategies including practical experience with effective sales communications, sales cycle and related processes
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Designation preferred or working towards
  • Experience in training, sales coaching, learning and development (or any combination of relevant experience in these areas)
  • Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) or BC Provincial Instructors Diploma (PIDP) or equivalent considered an asset
  • ​Solid knowledge of a wide range of financial planning technologies/systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, live virtual instruction tools (MS Teams or WebEx), digital authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Canva, etc.) and other similar technologies considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to facilitate variety of audiences.
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Pay Transparency

The target range of this role is $90,600 - $106,500 per year, plus a variable performance bonus. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
