Description:

Your role as instructors is to introduce and develop a passion for snow sports to our interns and guests. You will have exceptional people skills with an amazing ability to teach and develop beginner through to expert skills. You will provide a supportive and safe environment for all guests.

Your role as an Instructor Trainer involves 3 primary functions:

  • Staff Training
    • You will provide training sessions for our staff including morning session and afternoon sessions on topics ranging from guest service to exam preparation.
  • Gap Program Instructor
    • You will prepare people for Level 1 and 2 certifications. These programs are typically 5 days per week and run from 3 to 11 weeks in duration.
  • Guest Lessons
    • You will also work in our regular daily and seasonal programs when volumes require it.

Essential Functions:

  • Teach classes as assigned according to skill and certification level.
  • Develop and deliver staff training programs.
  • Work with the Ski + Ride School Manager to develop and deliver the Gap Program curriculum.
  • Assist other instructors as required.
  • Act as a resort ambassador to provide information on not only Ski + Ride School programs but on all resort programs and amenities.
  • Provide verbal feedback to all guests and written documentation when teaching children.
  • Responsible for helping with opening and closing procedures of the learning area.
  • Maintain a safe learning environment.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Minimum CSIA level 3 with Course Conductor level 1 or CASI level 3 with Evaluator level 1.
  • Desire to work with and relate to children, parents, guests, and employees.
  • Ability to take initiative, be highly organized, effectively communicate, and manage groups.
  • Good role model, high integrity, and adaptable.
  • Strong English Language Skills.
  • Programs require physical versatility; roles require medium weightlifting of 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in the evening and weekends when required.
