Join our Prospera team this year as an Accounts Payable Administrator for a 20 month contract .

In this role, you will be responsible for processing payments for Prospera Credit Union and its subsidiaries. Duties include accurate and timely invoice payments; reimbursing employee expenses; tax remittances, and reconciliations of all accounts payable related accounts.

What you'll do:

  • Reviews and pays all appropriate invoices; holds all invoices not supported by correct documentation or improperly authorized; determines acceptance or rejection of alternative documentation.
  • Processes all cheque requisitions.
  • Completes all data entry and posting on accounting system related to vendor payments.
  • Ensures accurate and timely rent payments for all branch/office locations.
  • Reconciles vendor statements and investigates any missing payments and ensures that outstanding issues are followed up on, resolved and any errors are corrected.
  • Manages all email communications within the AP-Invoice mailbox.
  • Reviews and reimburses all employee expense submissions; holds all expense reports not supported by correct documentation or improperly authorized; determines acceptance or rejection of alternative documentation.
  • Administrates company's expense report software; provides support in answering queries related to functionality and troubleshoot
  • Corporate Tax remittance for all entities.
  • Monthly PST remittances for all entities.
  • Queries GL account allocations that appear incorrect and make appropriate corrections.
  • Accounts Payable general ledger reconciliation for the credit union and its leasing entities.
  • Completes account payable month end procedures and reconciliations and generates summary reports for various departments, as required.
  • Various postings/accruals as required.
  • Provides assistance on department projects as required.
  • Other duties as required.


What you bring:

  • High school diploma
  • Working towards an accounting designation, an asset.
  • 2 years in an accounts payable position or a position within a financial institution.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills as related to the position.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact both verbally and in writing with a variety of people.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Proficient with computers and software applications, i.e. Word, Excel.
  • Fast and accurate keyboarding skills.
