Location: Elements Casino Surrey and Hastings Racecourse & Casino - Part-time

Under the general direction of the Regional Manager, Sales & Catering, this position will be supporting Elements Casino Surrey and Hastings Racecourse & Casino. The Coordinator, Sales & Catering will be responsible for all aspects of finalizing and documenting sales and catering details while contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, develops strong working relationships with guests, clients and team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responds to inquiries (phone/email) and directs to the appropriate managers
  • Advises the guest/client of available facilities, menus and pricing
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of events, guests, orders, payments and expenses
  • Creates Banquet Event Orders for each event in conjunction with the Regional Manager, Sales & Catering
  • Compile and distribute Sales and Catering reports
  • Coordinate and attend sales meetings when required
  • Assists with mail outs and other sales initiatives as required
  • Manages and resolves guest issues effectively and efficiently
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate and operational departments
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

  • Post secondary hospitality education or suitable combination of education and experience
  • Serving it Right certification
  • Computer literacy in MS office
  • Experience with Opera or Triple seat an asset
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in events or sales required
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Ability to travel between properties
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino and office environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, and non-traditional work hours
