JOB SUMMARY

As a Data Migration Specialist, this individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the 100% integrity and success of transferring client data between our two systems. They will possess strong technical expertise in data models, database design, ETL, SQL and JSON, as well as customer communication and project management. In this role, they will be working directly with the Data Warehouse Architect and Data Manager in addition to users and stakeholders to develop the solution to meet data migration needs. This position is a full time 6-month term. The annual salary range is $71,400 - $89,200 and will be pro-rated for the 6 month term.


JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Analyze the data model and data of current systems
    • Perform data profiling, create and update data mapping documents for migration
    • Develop, maintain and document data migration scripts using SQL Server tools and in relation to SQL/JSON
    • Perform data migration testing
    • Identify and resolve data integrity issues
    • Estimate effort, planning and schedule in Azure DevOps.
    • Communicate with customers to resolve issues
    • Ensure the security and integrity of data migration through rigorous testing and debugging.
    • Maintain data security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent degree in combination with training and experience.
    • Proven experience as a Data Migration Specialist.
    • Proven experience with ETL development using SQL Server tools
    • Technical experience in data modelling and database design development
    • Practical experience with data quality, data management and data security
    • Proficiency in data mapping, ETL, and data cleansing techniques
    • Experience with JSON structure and integration with SQL functions
    • Solid understanding of business analysis principles and practices, including requirements gathering and documentation.
    • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively, both verbally and in writing with users, vendors, peers, and management.
    • Strong work ethic, showing initiative and the ability to perform successfully under limited supervision.
    • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance standards.


    An equivalent combination of education, experience and skills/behaviours will be considered.
