Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term with QuadReal. If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave QuadReal at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities.
Based in Vancouver, the Co-op/Intern, International Finance Real Estate, will report to the Senior Manager, International Finance, and assist with the deployment and distribution of capital across the QuadReal International Portfolio. The intern will begin preparing inter-company and external cashflow transactions following comprehensive training.

What You Will Experience:
Prepare reporting packages to shareholder and management
Prepare expense and accrual files for monthly and quarterly transactions
Prepare monthly subledger and general ledger account reconciliations and working papers
Prepare financial statements for International Real Estate entities including notes thereto
Maintain accurate accounting records in Yardi
Complete daily and weekly reconciliations and troubleshoot variances
Respond to inquiries from corporate staff, clients and auditors
Complete investment accounting and reporting for pooled investment portfolios
Report and reconcile shares, holdings and transactions for holding structures
Maintain internal controls and recommend changes where weaknesses are identified
Provide assistance to other staff members as required
What You Will Bring:
Enrolled in a Business/Commerce degree program with a specialization in Accounting or Finance is desired
Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages
Ability to allocate one’s time effectively, work under pressure and manage deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities; willing to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment; organized; detailed orientated and a self-starter
Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Excellent communication, oral and written; able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; able to be flexible and work with all types of personalities; able to exercise confidentiality and places a priority on client services
Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and strong adherence to established deadlines.
Ability to identify and analyze problems, seek direction where required and take informed, decisive action when needed.
Embrace and pro-actively support QuadReal’s values and its culture of environmental sustainability and corporate and social responsibility
Previous finance or banking experience an asset
