As the Talent Acquisition Specialist (Fixed Term), your role is pivotal in selecting the best-fit candidates who can deliver in creating life-changing experiences for our guests. Reporting to the Director, Talent Acquisition & Development, you will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment of our seasonal positions, leveraging your expertise to source, engage, and select candidates to join our Seasonal Team.

By fostering strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates alike, as a Talent Ambassador for Rocky Mountaineer and not just a recruiter, you will deliver an impeccable candidate journey, epitomizing our commitment to excellence and embodying our values and aspirations in every interaction.

This position is a 6-month fixed term contract (January – June).

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Conduct high-volume full-cycle recruitment for Seasonal positions in an efficient and effective manner to deliver an outstanding hiring manager and candidate experience.
  • Source passive candidates through via social media, referrals, or other channels to identify and attract the best talent.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to gain an understanding of the skills and requirements needed for each position and develop a recruitment strategy.
  • Post jobs on our careers page and external job boards to ensure our job opportunities are visible to top talent.
  • Manage direct applicants through our ATS system; UKG Pro.
  • Coordinate video interviews, hiring manager and business interviews to ensure a seamless candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Conduct references checks, assessments, and background checks in-line with our recruitment process.
  • Gain offer approval from necessary stakeholders, contract preparation, and offer negotiations.
  • Coordinate onboarding for each new team member in conjunction with the Hiring Manager.
  • Build relationships with Universities, colleges and trade schools to increase our reach and pipelines for students and Alumni.
  • Work on recruitment projects (including but not limited to interview guides, intake forms, SOP’s).

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Knowledge

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Human Resources considered an asset, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation considered an asset.

Experience

  • Prior experience working directly on the train or in a guest facing role during Rocky Mountaineer’s operating season highly advantageous
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry an asset
  • 2+ years’ experience with high-volume full-cycle recruitment with a blend of internal and agency experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience using HRIS, ATS (UKG Pro) and other HR related software.

  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with systems and software including MS Office, HRIS, ATS (UKG Pro), Adobe, MS SharePoint & MS Teams.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills through multiple platforms.

Work Environment

• Hybrid based in Vancouver (minimum of 3 days/week work from office)

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is $62,500 to $70,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
