The Department of Anesthesiology is seeking passionate and dedicated Anesthesiologists to join a welcoming and supportive team at Peace Arch Hospital (PAH). Our team serves both daycare and surgical inpatients from across the south Fraser region. Surgical specialties at PAH include general surgery (including major bowel cases), obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics (including joint replacements and revisions), urology (including radical prostates & nephrectomies), plastic surgery, ENT, oral & maxillo-facial surgery, and ophthalmology.
PAH recently completed construction on a brand-new surgical suite, including 5 state of the art operating theatres, a cataract/ophthalmology suite, PACU, and Surgical Daycare. We have also just completed a brand-new Physician’s engagement space onsite combined with new on-call rooms. We have an efficient Pre-Admission Clinic where we provide both in-person and virtual consultations. Our surgical patient population includes many seniors, and we take pride in efficiently assessing and optimizing those with multiple co-morbidities. Our Internal Medicine colleagues provide 24/7 availability for inpatient perioperative consultations, and we have an Intensive Care Unit that provides postoperative critical care when necessary.
The PAH Department of Anesthesiology currently includes nine FRCPC anesthesiologists.
There is one PAH anesthesiologist on-call from home 24/7/365. Each full-time department member averages one night on-call per week; either a 12-hour weeknight, or a 24-hour weekend day.
Our department members are also active leaders in the local Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) program, the Medical Staff Association, and various hospital decision-making processes.
