The HR Operations Advisor is a key member of our HR Service Delivery team. This role provides ongoing support for our HR system and processes so that our partners can effectively and efficiently execute all people-related transactions while successfully meeting our organizations requirements.

A key responsibility for this role will be to use in-depth technical HR process knowledge and service skills to ensure that service level agreements, legislative obligations, benefit and retirement programs, and organizational policy requirements are met.

It will be the responsibility of the HR Operations Advisor to audit the database to safeguard the integrity of employee data through a variety of data validation reports and ongoing analysis. In addition, problem solving of escalated cases from tier one (HRSC) as well as assessing system configuration gaps will be a critical aspect of this position.

The HR Operations Advisor will contribute to reducing or eliminating administrative time; drive standardization and simplification of processes, provide input into training materials and is dedicated to supporting the HR data functions at Ministry Units, enabling MU's to better focus on mission delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide day-to-day operational support for various systems including Workday, UltiPro, and ServiceNow. Help mission partners by processing various HR transactions including Benefits, Pension, Time and Attendance, Absence, Compensation, CBA renewals, and Core HR.
  2. Audit and analyze data to ensure integrity (data accuracy and completeness) via established standard or reports and based on audit outcomes make the required corrections or advise HR on how to make the required data changes.
  3. Resolve systemic data integrity issues by recommending and supporting the implementation of process improvements and/or training to improve the execution of transactions and data accuracy.
  4. In working with HR Operational Effectiveness, support the enhancement of HR systems by developing, executing, and documenting system changes and testing to verify that results satisfy expected outcomes
  5. Collaborate with business partners to understand their reporting needs and create reports that satisfy their requirements.
  6. Champion the employee experience by driving continuous improvement and process efficiency in partnership with internal and external partners/stakeholders and leveraging technology where possible.
  7. Maintain an in-depth working knowledge of HR systems and processes and assist with knowledge of system navigation and policy interpretation.
  8. Identify opportunities to continuously improve HR processes and systems across all locations.
  9. Responsible to resolve escalations where local expertise is required. Involving relevant internal and external partners as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field
  • CHRP designation (current or in-progress) an asset
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' HR generalist experience and knowledge of current min requirements, policies, and practices
  • Knowledge and experience in data management, HR analytics and reporting
  • Knowledge and experience working with HR systems, time and attendance systems and other online processing tools in support of data collection and analysis
  • UKG, Workday or Oracle systems experience an asset

  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer service focused
  • Expert proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of the organizations
  • Functional experience with leading HCM software considered a strong asset
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving consistency and eliminating inefficiencies in processes
  • Ability to identify trends and patterns (metrics) from large amounts of raw data
  • Detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple priorities, commitment to meet deadlines
  • Analytical/problem solving, ability to learn quickly and take on new challenges
  • Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $50,302 to $62,878 with a maximum of $75,454. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
