Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Reporting to the Manager of Patient Care (MOPC) and/or delegate, the incumbent will be involved in direct patient care and will act as a resource to patients and families as required at the Health Sciences Centre Emergency Department waiting room. General areas of service include: direct patient care, emotional support, advocacy, community relations and public relations. Acts as a communication link between the Children's Emergency Department, the patient and appropriate community services.
Must successfully complete the CPR for Health Care Providers course within three months of employment.
Must successfully complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Program (in-house) within three months of employment.
Advocacy and interview skill training will be provided within the probation period.
First Aid training preferred.
Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
