Job Summary:
This position is in the Propulsion Engineering department, located at Magellan Aerospace's Rockwood Propellant Plant approximately 20 km north of the city, near the town of Stony Mountain. The successful applicant will gain experience through on-the-job training and by performing essential work duties for Magellan. This position will involve working closely with the Propulsion Engineering team, and the term will be from May 2025 to December 2025 (with possibility of extension to the end of August 2026, i.e. 16 months total - this is TBD). The position will also involve working with Chemists in the lab.
Essential Responsibilities
The successful applicant will ideally be a second or third year Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering student. Academic standing and experience/participation in engineering related activities will be taken into consideration. Experience working in a chemistry lab is an asset but not mandatory. Candidates must have access to a vehicle since the Rockwood Propellant Plant is not accessible by public transit. Employment will be conditional upon the successful candidate passing a rigorous security clearance process.
