You need to enjoy technical challenges, demonstrate strong communication skills and have excellent business acumen.

By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to assist our industrial clients in the energy and mining markets with their operations and their maintenance or growth projects. In more practical terms, you'll be called upon to perform site surveys and tests on medium- and low-voltage electrical equipment, as well as participate in the commissioning of new equipment and systems. You'll also have the opportunity to help with various stages in project execution. What's more, you'll be responsible for ensuring quality professional services and for maintaining strong client relationships.

Additionally, you'll be mentored by various experienced engineers and benefit from BBA's network of recognized experts.

Job Location:

This is a permanent position. You'll spend the first three months working at a major centre, followed by a temporary assignment (two years) at our Labrador City office. After which, you'll return to a major centre or remain in Labrador City to pursue your career.

With us, you'll get the opportunity to...

  • Assist our industrial clients in their day-to-day operations in the field: troubleshooting, root cause analysis, staff training, shutdown planning and asset management
  • Perform site surveys
  • Participate in equipment testing and commissioning
  • Perform short-circuit, power flow, protection coordination, arc-flash hazard studies and harmonic content analyses as well as steady-state and transient analyses in industrial power systems
  • Design and read various types of electrical drawings
  • Draft technical documents, calculation notes, specifications and reports
  • Attend internal or client coordination meetings
  • Participate in project management (costs, schedules, labour, etc.)

  • Respect: Maintain an inclusive work environment and value everyone's contributions
  • Integrity: Be trustworthy and respect BBA's ethics and values
  • Service excellence: Demonstrate independence in managing relationships with clients, colleagues and partners
  • Leadership: Inspire respect and trust in others and create a climate conducive to teamwork
  • Entrepreneurship: Be proactive in promoting your skills to peers and internal (e.g., directors, project leaders) and external clients (BBA clients)
  • Communication: Have strong listening, synthesis and writing skills
  • Creative: Demonstrate resourcefulness and innovation in providing solutions

Summary of certifications and job requirements

  • Asset: Graduate from the Institut en génie de l'énergie électrique (IGEE)
  • Asset: Onsite experience (internships or other) related to industrial networks
  • Asset: Knowledge of ETAP, EasyPower, CYME or EMTP-RV software

With us, you'll get many benefits

  • Interesting growth opportunities to match your ambitions
