Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | Co-Lecturer for NURS2740.06 - Nursing and Family Health (Winter 2025) Nurses combine knowledge from primary health care, public health, social and nursing sciences, recognizing the uniqueness and diversity in family systems to support transitions that occur across the life course. Understanding health promotion, protection and prevention of illness in the context of family development is the focus of this course. This is a 6-credit hour course with 6 hours of lectures per week and biweekly two-hour tutorials. The successful candidate will be co-teaching this course with another lecturer. This appointment runs from January 1, 2025 until April 30, 2025. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics • Teach course content • Assessment and evaluation of student learning • Use of Brightspace for course delivery • Responding to student queries about coursework • Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace • Participation in course discussions within the program • Develop and administer examinations • Submission of grades • Follow up with students as necessary |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position | Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, and be licensed to practice in Nova Scotia. A strong clinical background in Family Health Nursing. and prior teaching experience would be an asset. PhD preferred. |
Salary Range/Pay Rate | Per CUPE Collective Agreement |
