Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | This Part-Time Academic will be fully responsible for the teaching and grading of one section of THEA 3711.03 Stage Design 2a, from September 1 to December 31, 2025, as follows:
The instructor will work closely with faculty and teaching staff in the Stage Design and Technical Theatre program to coordinate curriculum requirements. The instructor is required to provide a Method of Assessment. This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts. |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position | The successful applicant should have an MA or MFA in Scenic Design or a related discipline. Candidates with a BA or BFA in a related discipline and substantial professional experience in the relevant discipline will be considered. The successful candidate should be proficient in 3D scale model construction and hand and digital drafting practices. Experience with VectorWorks is considered an asset. Experience with scenic painting, props design, and design for film and television is an asset, as is familiarity with costume design. Previous experience teaching at a university, with documented evidence of teaching ability, is also an asset.
