Job Opportunity: Type 1 Firefighter/Alternate Firefighter

Tłı̨chǫ Firefighting Services (TFS), a 100% Indigenous-owned company by Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation, is accepting applications for seasonal firefighters in the four Tłı̨chǫ communities: Behchokǫ̀, Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweètì.

Job Summary:

As a Type 1 Firefighter/Alternate Firefighter, you will report to the Crew Lead and play a crucial role in combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires to save lives and property.

Responsibilities:

• Combat, extinguish, and prevent fires
• Handle and operate various rescue equipment
• Wear special protective clothing

Requirements:

• Pass a physically demanding fitness test
• Lift and carry up to 50lbs across rough terrain
• Knowledge of fire suppression equipment
• Confirmed criminal record history
• Travel outside of your based community and/or outside of the territories may be required
