The Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation (TIC) is exploring the opportunity to offer developmental opportunities for motivated Tłı̨chǫ Citizens through three exciting term positions: Finance Assistant, HSE Assistant, and Project Assistant. These 9-12 month term positions are designed to help you gain hands-on experience, skills, and knowledge across various departments at TIC, including Finance, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), and Project Administration.

Position 1: Finance Assistant

Purpose of the Role:
As a Finance Assistant, you'll support the finance team in capturing and managing project costs, ensuring accurate financial records for various TIC projects. This role will help you develop valuable skills in financial reporting, data entry, and project cost tracking.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Information Coordination: Work with project teams to capture all costs (invoices, receipts, timesheets) and ensure accurate coding in the system.
  • Cost Reporting: Provide weekly reports to project managers comparing costs against budgets.
  • Collaboration: Support the finance team with various tasks and assist the Director of Finance with research and analysis.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of Grade 10 (preferably a high school diploma).
  • At least one year of work experience (office experience preferred).
  • Strong interest in numbers, with excellent math and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and communicate well with internal teams and vendors.

Position 2: HSE Assistant

Purpose of the Role:


As an HSE Assistant, you'll support the HSE team in implementing safety, health, and environmental projects across the organization. This role will allow you to gain practical experience in safety inspections, audits, and compliance, while working with a variety of departments to ensure projects are executed on time and within safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Maintain records and documentation, prepare reports, and assist with various administrative tasks.
  • Safety & Compliance: Help with safety inspections, investigations of workplace accidents, and the promotion of safety awareness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, and other departments to ensure compliance and smooth project operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of Grade 10 (preferably a high school diploma).
  • At least one year of work experience (fieldwork in construction or mining is preferred).
  • Basic understanding of construction or development projects (or eagerness to learn).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.

Position 3: Project Assistant

Purpose of the Role:


As a Project Assistant, you'll help organize and manage the logistics of specific projects at TIC. This position will give you valuable exposure to the inner workings of project administration, including coordinating schedules, gathering project data, and ensuring tasks are completed on time.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Administration: Organize and store project-related information, take meeting notes, and ensure the timely completion of tasks by coordinating with different teams.
  • Project Logistics: Assist with organizing travel, meeting spaces, equipment, and other logistical needs for the project.
  • Collaboration: Work with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other departments to gather information and update project files.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of Grade 10 (preferably a high school diploma).
  • At least one year of work experience (preferably in a project or administrative role).
  • Interest in construction or development projects and worksites.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.
