Position Summary:

The Bike Instructors will be responsible for providing safe and effective instruction for all skill levels for both our downhill and cross-country programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach new, intermediate and advanced riders the fundamentals of downhill and cross-country mountain biking in accordance with Horseshoe’s program outline.
  • Work with riders of all skill levels in a summer camp format.
  • Uphold and enforce trail etiquette standard and safety of all riders.
  • Provide an exciting, positive, and safe lesson experience.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all participants by exemplifying safe behavior
  • Perform basic bike maintenance tasks (i.e. fixing a flat tire)

Qualifications:

  • Must be PMBIA Level 1 or GSMBC Level 1 Certified.
  • Experienced mountain biker with the ability to teach both downhill and cross-country skills.
  • Experience working with children of all biking levels.
  • Standard First Aid certificate is an asset.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
  • Must be available for at least two shifts per week, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
