The Restorative Care Coordinator is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.
As a Restorative Care Coordinator your typical day will impact in the following ways:
• Providing for restorative care including personal care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and resident plan of care within the scope of practice.
• Assisting in maintaining an environment appropriate to meet residents individualized needs.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records of restorative care delivered.
• Educating Personal Support Workers, Dietary, Nursing, and Volunteers to assist in the delivery of the Restorative Care program.
• Demonstrating professional working knowledge of all equipment used in the delivery of nursing care.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Must haves:
• Completion of a recognized post-secondary degree and/or a two-year diploma with a restorative focus at the community college level in a health related field inclusive of PTA/OTA assistant program with relevant restorative course supplemented by the restorative care program certificate program.
• Knowledge of the specific needs of older adults diagnosed with dementia.
• Knowledge of MDS/assessment tool and coding techniques.
• Basic computer skills.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
