Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Serve as point of contact for guests, providing professional, friendly, and knowledgeable interactions
  • Parks Ambassadors help to maximize the guest experience by being informed of park events, policies, and procedures, and are actively engaged with all supporting departments at the parks.
  • Support all departments by assisting guests with information, questions, and concerns.
  • Working cross departmentally, the Parks Ambassadors support all departments by helping to expedite lineups, clear bottlenecks, respond to guest questions and concerns, or assist in resolving unique or complex challenges in efficient ways.
  • Support Lifts & Visitor Service teams with the guest experience relating to resolving lift pass issues relating to fraud and other issues
  • Contribute to a positive guest experience through active problem-solving. Park Ambassadors look for creative solutions to address guest challenges, recognizing opportunities to improve a guests visit through cross selling of services or providing alternative solutions when current offerings or capacity cannot meet initial requests.
  • Problem solving and managing challenges in a fast paced and busy environment will be a consistent responsibility in this role. Ambassadors must be solutions focused with an eye for creativity and quality of the guest experience.
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • Solutions focused with a customer service mindset. You are observant and proactive, with an eye for creative problem solving in managing guest interactions and internal/external stakeholders
  • Must have strong decision-making skills, able to make informed decisions quickly and feel empowered to serve the customer better, escalating appropriately when required.
  • A quick learner who can adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations while remaining calm under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an outdoor, busy, and fast paced environment.
  • Ambassadors will be required to work during peak operational times including weekends, holidays, and some evenings. Ability to work flexible shifts with varying hours, depending on visitation levels.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Successful candidates are required to provide a Criminal Record Check (CRC), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
  • A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class “G”, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
  • Successful candidates must provide own ski or snowboard equipment including a helmet for use during shifts. Ski or Snowboard Certification an asset
  • Standard First Aid & CPR certification is an asset
