Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide instruction for assigned Ski/Snowboard lessons
  • Assist with supervision of snow school programs, including staff training and on hill supervision.
  • Support with management of class sizes and quality of Snow School Programs and lessons
  • Assist with responding to participant inquiries during the assignment of lessons and other program feedback received throughout the season
  • Assist staff in creating a clear and open lines of communication with program participants (and parents).
  • Ensure high quality instruction for participants by providing regular instructor feedback and contributing to performance reviews
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of CSIA and CASI teaching methodologies
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; Able to develop, promote, and maintain high levels of customer service while maintaining effective communication within the Snow School team and across departments
  • Previous experience leading small teams and a demonstrated ability to create a positive work environment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and class management skills
  • Ability to adapt to the daily challenges associated with the operation of the Snow School
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Dayforce, Outlook)
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Successful candidates must be active members of CASI/CSIA/CSCF prior to first day of employment
    • Level II or greater certification is an asset
  • Successful candidates must provide own ski or snowboarding equipment
    • Skis/Poles or Snowboard
    • Helmet
    • Black snow pants (no patterns) *Uniform jacket will be provided for the season
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
