About the Job

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Assistant (Student) is responsible for creating a positive first impression while interfacing with anyone calling or coming into the office. The Customer Service Assistant acts as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders to ensure traffic flow and communication in the yard is optimal and that needs are addressed in an effective and timely manner. The incumbent assists the Dispatch team and other areas of the company as required.

This is a temporary four (4) month contract position, open to post-secondary students. The successful candidate must have reliable transportation, and be available to work on site during the hours of 7 am-4 pm, Monday-Friday. The position is based out of our Walker Gro-Bark Office & Processing Facility in Caledon, ON.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage traffic flow in the yard and co-ordinate drivers and yard staff through excellent communication.
  • Maintain records for all inbound and outbound materials including confirmations in the computer system of all outbound loads.
  • Enter and confirm customer pick-up orders.
  • Answering phone calls and quickly addressing the caller's needs in a courteous manner.
  • Greeting walk in clients in a professional manner and promptly servicing their requests.
  • Assist in administrative and dispatch duties.
  • Respond or redirect email inquiries as needed.
  • Collect, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Assist with confirmation calls to customers advising of next day delivery.
