What you will be doing

Working with the Engineering Field Services team to carry out field-related tasks on Capital reconstruction projects and other sites within the City of Cambridge. This will include inspection of new municipal assets such as watermain, sewer and road infrastructure as well as working with other Engineering staff to complete topographic surveys.

Education

Actively pursuing a college diploma or university degree in Environmental Studies or Civil Engineering

Experience and Knowledge

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Technology field of study or related program at a recognized educational institute with a co-op placement requirement for educational credits.
  • MECP Operator In Training Certificate for Water Distribution & Supply would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Valid Ontario G2 or G Driver's License with a clean abstract and access to a reliable vehicle for business purposes.

Proof of current or future enrolment in post-secondary education.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)

Your compensation

The hourly rate of pay based on the inside workers union co-op grid, has an hourly range of $18.16 - $25.14per hour.

Hours of work

Hours of work are from Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
