Underwriting Support Clerk - 4 Month Contract (Summer 2025)

About the role

We're looking for an Underwriting Support Clerk for a 4 Month Contract (Summer 2025)

What you'll do here:

• Manage the incoming requests from our brokers and distribute work to the underwriting team according to different levels of seniority and assigned roles.
• Allocate work and correspondence to the underwriting team daily.
• Identify, search, log and distribute applications.
• Assemble and prepare output for mailing with the same day turnaround time.
• May order various underwriting reports from the computer system.
• Assist the management team with any required tasks.
• Identify problems and relevant issues, seek to resolve problems and improve work processes and share back with the team/management.
• Work closely to develop and maintain positive business partnerships with co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table:

• Working towards Post Secondary Diploma or Degree.
• No previous experience required
• Understanding of the underwriting principles and practices
• Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision
• Can work independently
• Initiative and ability to work under pressure
• Keyboarding skills and knowledge of computers required
• Experience with Windows-based software programs and underwriting systems preferred
• Must be able to develop some proficiency in the use and knowledge of all computer systems related to their function
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
