Duties and Responsibilities

Operations: Consistently deliver a clean, safe, and well maintained facility

  • Perform maintenance and general labour tasks for all facilities, grounds, tracks, tunnels, building and stables.
  • Maintain all documents in a timely and accurate manner as required.
  • Respond to all maintenance emergencies as required.
  • Maintain barns, paddock, stalls and other related buildings
  • Ensure maintenance of paddocks, track rails, horse paths, walking ring, railing and other racing related items.
  • Assist with landscaping: sodding, watering, cutting grass, planting, weeding, raking
  • Assist with Turf maintenance including fertilizing, mowing harrowing, hedge and irrigation maintenance, rolling spraying, stomping vacuuming, pinning, etc.
  • Install and remove snow fences, barn tarps, track barricades, office furniture, tack room beds, filters, change tiles, and moves.
  • Clean and maintain roadways, catch basins, paddock stalls, eaves troughs, roofs, utility rooms, storage rooms and signage.
  • Conduct floor checks
  • Collect garbage
  • Paint
  • Snow removal and salting
  • Maintain and clean vehicles and other assigned equipment.
  • Ensure work area and assigned tools and equipment are kept clean and tidy.
  • Complete work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist other trades as assigned.
  • Carry and operate 2-way radios as assigned
  • Work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Perform deliveries, moves and setups as required.
  • Ensure that you swipe in before your shift and swipe out at the end of your shift every time.

Customer Service: Demonstrate service excellence by consistently delivering timely, quality work and team responsiveness

  • Demonstrate and model professionalism, courtesy, consideration and respect to internal and WEG customers
  • Respond in a timely and effective manner to unexpected and immediate needs of customers
  • Consistently uphold and demonstrate safety rules and standards as designated by Department
  • Comply with Employee Handbook, uniform and grooming requirements at all times
  • Consistently adhere to company policies and procedures

Communication: Manage information to maintain and improve service satisfaction, teamwork and Operational effectiveness

  • Report any special occurrences or discrepancies to departmental management.
  • Advise Supervisor / Manager of any occurrences which may compromise positive customer relations
  • Report faulty equipment to departmental management.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improving service or operational performance to departmental management.
  • Other related service duties or responsibilities may be assigned on business requirements.
