The High Temperature and Pressure Experiments Section in the Advanced Reactor Materials and Chemistry (ARM&C) Branch at the Chalk River Laboratories (CRL) conducts range of experimental studies for high temperature and high-pressure applications in support of research and development (R&D) at CNL and for the Canadian nuclear industry. These experiments are performed in the High Temperature Fuel Channel (HTFC) laboratory, where the experiments can be monitored and controlled from a remote room that provides protection form potential of high energy release due to the high pressures and temperatures. Experiments in the HTFC lab are executed by teams typically comprising two to six staff that execute all aspects of the test including: brainstorming, design, instrumentation, set-up, and assembly of thermo-mechanical systems. This is a very exciting opportunity for a student to apply/gain knowledge in:
• Practical applications of fundamental theories and basic laws
• Advanced measurement techniques for deformation, pressure, and temperature Reactor Safety Experiments design and operation

Please submit a resume, cover letter, and copy of an up-to-date transcript by the posting close date of January 5th at 11:59 pm EST to ensure consideration for student employment. All students applying for student positions at CNL must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of their work term.
