What will you be doing!

  • Operating a variety of hand tools, including drills, forklifts, chain saws, cement saws, and other tools as directed by the trades.
  • Cleaning and moving material and debris.
  • Digging/backfilling trenches and ditches, shovelling asphalt, snow, soil, waste materials, etc.
  • Performing related work as required.
  • Loading and unloading supplies and equipment as required, including the physical ability to lift heavy objects safely.
  • Working with scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
  • Assisting in preparing foundations/forms.
  • Performing set up and tear down of work site.
  • Participating in all material and waste segregation and recycling as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Experience
    • Formal training and practical experience in applying Radiation Protection (RP) principles.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Preparation of required documentation.
    • Record keeping and reading instructions as required.
    • Ability to complete required training and certification.
    • Displays a high standard of safety at all times.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for creating basic Word documents, formatting procedures, exporting and running reports, preparing presentations, and corresponding using e-mail.
    • Knowledge in the use of personal protective equipment and clothing (PPE&C).
    • Able to follow verbal and written instructions and work with minimal supervision.
    • Familiar with the operation of applicable equipment and buildings.
    • Willing to undertake additional training appropriate to these duties.
    • Able to utilize tools and procedures as required, plan own work, and make minor decisions.
    • Have the ability to cope with heights and confined spaces.
    • Able to work effectively with a variety of personnel and be responsible for record-keeping where applicable.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."

Working Conditions:

  • The ability to perform physical work while wearing all required PPE and C, such as air-supplied suits, Tyvek, respirators, etc.
  • Physically capable of working in confined spaces, varying temperatures, heights, etc as required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in adverse weather conditions.
