JOB SUMMARY

Woodbine Entertainment is searching for an ambitious and talented Editor/Videographer (one-year contract) to join our growing team. The Editor/Videographer will report to the Manager, Video Content Production and will be responsible for editing and shooting video projects. Project types will include athlete features/profiles, documentaries, advertisements, branded content, special long-form projects, as well as assets for social platforms.

The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, motivated, and able to think and execute creatively, with a high degree of craft. Candidates should have a proven ability and portfolio that demonstrate their familiarity with video production, with a heavy focus on video editing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edit multiple content offerings including short features & profiles, documentaries, advertisements, branded content, video podcasts, special long form projects, as well as assets for social platforms.
• Act as the primary videographer or in a supporting camera role on set.
• Manage digital assets. Ingesting, organizing, distributing, and archiving and video footage and visual assets.
Collaboratively work with the social and content team members to brainstorm and create engaging content, facilitate smooth workflow, and ensure that project goals are met.
• Help to develop templates and standardized workflows to help our team work more efficiently.
• Travel to offsite locations to capture and edit content.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced editing skills in a variety of project types including social media deliverables.
• Must have expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere as well as proficiency in other Adobe CC applications such as After Effects, Photoshop, and Media Encoder.
• Strong understanding of aspect ratios, frame rates and codecs.
• Strong familiarity with social media platforms and their respective media formats.
• The ability to turnaround same day edits.
• Basic understanding of motion graphics
• Basic understanding of colour grading and related software (Adobe Lumetri, Davinci Resolve, Etc.)
• Working knowledge of professional film cameras and equipment (Primarily Sony ecosystem).
• The ability to film on location or in studio as the primary or supporting operator.
• Experience working with professional video equipment, including lighting, sound and grip is a bonus.
• Experience with podcast setups and filming is considered an asset.
• Must be well organized and possess a strong attention to detail.
• Capability to execute last minute projects and tasks.
• Strong ability to balance multiple projects at once and prioritize them appropriately.
• The ability to work both collaboratively and independently and to take direction form your team.
• General computer skills with Mac OS and Microsoft OS (Teams, Word, Excel, Etc.).

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in broadcasting, video journalism or equivalent work-related experience.
• 3-7 years of experience working in content production and/or video editing or related field.
