SUMMARY:
Metro Ontario is seeking a Supply Chain Intern to support our Logistics team in optimizing supply chain operations. This role provides hands-on experience in business analysis, distribution planning, and process improvement, while also offering exposure to store operations and business services.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to key projects that enhance item availability, service levels, and cost efficiency. Projects may include distribution center capacity assessment, forecasting analytics, and network optimization. The intern will also gain experience in data analysis, time studies, process mapping, and KPI reporting, helping to drive continuous improvements across the supply chain.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist in the design and optimization of automated and existing operations, with a focus on efficiency and return on investment.

- Conduct data analysis and feasibility studies to support business case development.

- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project requirements and drive execution.

- Respond to store inquiries related to merchandising and supply chain operations, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.

- Support the Store and Business Services teams in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business (or equivalent field).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to model operational challenges.

- Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Visio, and Project (an asset).

- Willingness to travel between Ontario's Distribution Centres if required.

- Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work.

- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
