JOB SUMMARY
Markham Museum is a 25-acre site with 32 built structures. Our gardens, orchard and landscape features complement the buildings and aid our interpretation of three primary themes: Settlement as it relates to our Environment and the Technologies we use to adapt to life in Markham. We deliver a dynamic series of programs year-round including public and education programs, events, and exhibitions, which attract 50,000 visitors annually, many of them families with young children. The Museum also serves as a rental venue for weddings, corporate functions and private parties.
The Museum Educational Program Instructor (Science & Technology Specialist) will work within the Programming Department and will be responsible for the planning, supervision, and delivery of exploration-based, hands-on history and science education programs for children ranging from 4 to 16 years of age. The Museum Educational Program Instructor will create camp activities related to science, technology, the environment & history, with a special focus on STEAM based programming to complement our current exhibition "Everyday Superheroes".
