As a Court Package Processor within our Occurrence Processing Unit, you will be the responsible for performing a variety of clerical and general duties related to the preparation and submission of online court packages to the Provincial and Federal Crowns for criminal and traffic offences.

 What will your typical day look like?

  • Prepares online court packages by importing disclosure and court documents into Niche using the Bulk Document Loader application, ensuring documents are loaded in accordance with case file requirements.
  • Generates information, determining which type of Case file is required for the package.
  • Performs searches on various systems including CPIC, PARIS, Niche, T-Drive, E-Drive and the MTO collision system as required for inclusion in the court packages and officer investigations.
  • Schedules court and fingerprint appointments using the Ident Scheduler program, based on priority, division, and Federal and/or Provincial matters.
  • Initiates and maintains tasking workflows in Niche in accordance with Case Management's requirements.
  • Performs Commissioner of Oath Duties.
  • Provides guidance to Officers regarding eDisclosure requirements, tasking, reworks, eDisclosure tracker, package approvals, and printing warrants/summons.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional courses and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of one year related experience with Niche, tasking and CPIC required
  • MS Word-Intermediate
  • MS Excel-Basic
  • MS Outlook
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications pertinent to the function, e.g. Niche, PQT, CPIC, A.R.I.S (Police Automated Registration Information System)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Bulk Document Loader preferred
  • Well-developed keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Demonstrated written communication and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Code, CDSA, and Highway Traffic Act preferred

Additional information:

*** Shift work required; Occurrence Processing Unit operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Training will consist of 5 weeks in class instruction following a Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. schedule.  After which you will be assigned a platoon, working full time hours following a rotating schedule of days, afternoons and midnights.
