Job Summary

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Culture Programs, support the development, coordination, and promotion of high quality Culture programs and services in the literary, digital and visual arts delivered at a variety of art centres, community centres and historical sites across Mississauga.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within a team to plan, develop and implement Culture Programs including but not limited to evening and weekend courses, camps and weekday school programs
  • Provide customer service, resolve issues and communicate changes/cancellations
  • Assist with functional guidance of part-time staff, including evaluations, scheduling, hiring/contracting and training
  • Manage volunteer, co-op and intern recruitment, training and assist with functional guidance
  • Assist with regular program visits, Quest 2 evaluations, program planning
  • Assist by liaising with facility staff to ensure spaces are prepared, safe and operational
  • Assist by responding to ad-hoc programming requests
  • Provide administrative support including part time payroll, program outline review, class lists, program hand-outs, equipment & supply inventory
  • Work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends; travel required between facilities
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Fine Arts, Arts Administration, Education or related field with a minimum of 3 years' related experience in an arts education setting
  • First-Aid, CPR "C", High Five and Quest 2 certification
  • Knowledge of R3/SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office and ActiveNet software is an asset
  • Experience using art & design digital software, or experience with the Ontario Curriculum(K-Gr 12) is an asset
  • Attention to detail in emergency situations
  • Knowledge and experience of program design and delivery; instructional fill-in maybe required
  • Highly motivated self-starter; excellent oral and written communication skills; team player; ability to work in a changing environment

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 36.85 - $ 49.13
Hours of Work: 35
