As a Project Coordinator reporting to the Executive Manager, Development, you will be the principal point of contact throughout the land development approval process for the public, applicants, City staff and external agencies. Proactively building and maintaining relationships with clients, you are able to provide clear, timely and transparent communication of information to facilitate timely development application approvals. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in all forms of communication and strong organizational skills. Experience working in a land development environment is a definite asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Circulate and coordinate development applications
• Establish appropriate timelines for review of applications
• Continuously monitor development application status and input and maintain electronic records (MAX, ePlans and other electronic records)
• Follow-up with commenting departments and agencies
• Prepare correspondence regarding inactive development applications
• Calculate and process refunds on development applications; handle securities and other financial transactions
• Establish and provide on-going communication with the applicant and stakeholders
• Prepare formal notices in accordance with legislative requirements
• Update City website with development application information
• Coordinate community and public meetings and associated mobile signs
• Coordinate/prepare Ontario Land Tribunal submission material for development applications under appeal
• Conduct site visits as required
• Provide research and analysis on land development projects
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma in one or more of the following areas: Planning, Planning Technician, Architecture or related discipline
• Minimum two years' experience in co-ordinating projects; experience with land development planning related projects is preferred
• Knowledge of development application process, Mississauga Official Plan and Mississauga Zoning By-law is highly preferred
• Demonstrated experience in project management
• Capable of reading and understanding technical drawings/plans is preferred
• Ability to build effective relationships and resolve issues using effective problem solving methods
• Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines and manage workload independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong computer literacy required with experience in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat; experience with MAX, CATS, EDMS, Words, Electronic Plan Submission software (ePlans) will be considered an asset
• Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle are essential
• Training in LEAN is an asset

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 78,602.00 - $ 104,806.00
