You as a Director, Internal Audit will:

  • Identify functional / business areas of risk to prioritize execution of annual audit programs
  • Develop and implement audit work plans and internal audit procedures
  • Build an effective team to execute audit work plans
  • Execute compliance and financial audits in accordance with approved audit work plans
  • Report / present to leadership on the results of audits and make corresponding recommendations
  • Identify areas of risk and make recommendations to implement internal controls, business processes, and governance procedures.
  • Oversee and test implementation of internal controls, processes and procedures
  • Undertake special investigations at the request of leadership

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a minimum of 10 years of progressive and relevant audit experience, including leadership experience
  • You are willing to travel to various business units in Canada and internationally
  • You hold a CPA designation.
  • CIA and CISA designations are an asset.
  • You have a strong accounting background, with in-depth experience in ASPE and/or IFRS
  • Public accounting experience is an asset
  • You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • You possess strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • You have experience working with multiple financial ERP systems / accounting applications
  • You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic fast paced environment
