Job Description:

About the Role

We are looking for ambitious movie-obsessed students to join our IMAX Internship Program this Summer! This 10-week program will focus on hands-on learning, skill development, and real-world work experience in a collaborative and innovative environment. This program will take place June-August in our Mississauga office!

Are you curious about how IMAX content is created? Do you want to learn more about IMAX's first in class projection and sound systems? The post-production and Operations team at IMAX is responsible for creating and distributing all iterations of an IMAX release to our global theatre network. We are looking for a self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced, highly detail oriented, collaborative team environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Learn basic editing workflows within the IMAX's DMR group

  • Assist with the Soundtrack department on QC and other sound related tasks

  • Partner with our Quality Assurance team to check multiple versions of our IMAX titles

  • Help with analyzing picture content against production documentation to ensure the data is complete and correct

  • Assist with general administrative duties as required

What You'll Need:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Film Studies or Production, Technology or Coding, or Communications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required

  • Ability to take direction, fulfill responsibilities under pressure, and adhere to strict deadlines with limited direct supervision

Nice to Have:

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation desired, with an approachable and personable outlook

  • Previous internship/co-op experience

  • Passion for IMAX!
