Role Summary

The Senior Consultant, Developer, plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, optimizing, and documenting ETL solutions specifically using informatica tailored to clients' needs. Working closely with architects, designers, business analysts, and other developers, this role ensures the successful delivery of high-quality data integration solutions.

This position does not include any direct reports but requires close collaboration with internal and external teams.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Excellence:
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the client's business needs, industry trends, and data challenges, with a focus on Informatica-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to identify and resolve delivery issues, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Escalate critical issues promptly, maintaining transparency and adherence to project timelines.
  • Contribute to project planning, ensuring workload expectations and milestones are met.
Development:
  • Design and implement robust data warehousing and business intelligence solutions using Informatica PowerCenter and other Informatica tools.
  • Leverage SQL, shell scripts, and programming languages to enhance and optimize Informatica workflows.
  • Implement automation and innovation in data integration processes aligned with client strategies.
  • Engage in requirements gathering, solution design, and detailed analysis to deliver tailored Informatica solutions.
  • Conduct thorough unit and integration testing to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation for Informatica workflows and related deliverables.
  • Adhere to and promote data management best practices to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Innovation:
  • Share insights and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in Informatica practices.
  • Stay informed about advancements in Informatica tools and emerging technologies, applying them to enhance delivery outcomes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have experience using Informatica
  • Strong experience with SNOWFLAKE
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and practices.
  • Expertise with RDBMS, SQL, MPP, and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, MongoDB, Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in SQL programming, including complex queries and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Exposure to big data technologies such as Hive, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, and related tools is a plus.
Additional Skills (Assets):
  • Experience with data modeling and tools like ERwin.
  • Experience with HR/Payroll Data is an asset
  • Knowledge of Java, C#, Python, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with test automation and emerging data technologies.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software/Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 5-8 years of technical project experience, including 3-5 years as a Developer.
  • Specialized certifications in data technologies (preferred).
