Job Overview

Wawanesa's Talent Acquisition team is hiring a summer student to support our goal of providing a best-in-class recruitment experience. In this developmental role you will, support special projects on the team related to talent acquisition, administrative support, process improvements.

​This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to move towards a career in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources upon completion of their studies. ​This is a term position, with a start date of May 5, 2025, and end date of August 29, 2025.

Job Responsibilities

  • ​Assists with posting jobs in the applicant tracking system as well as on external job boards to drive a diverse candidate slate.
  • ​Provide support with screening resumes, conduct phone screens, assist with administration of Candidate Assessments, Pre-Employment Screening, Relocation Intakes, etc.
  • Support with recruitment administrative tasks associated with job postings such as invoice and translation management, as well as file management.
  • Reviews incoming requests to team mailbox, responds by exercising appropriate judgment and confidentiality
  • Advocate and support DEI&B initiatives internally through event coordination and participation.
  • Provides support with recruitment event toolkit inventory
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • ​Working towards a diploma, certificate, or degree in related field such as Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Ability to commute to our North York or Winnipeg office 2 days or 15 hours/week.
  • ​Must be available to work full time (37.5hr/ week) from Monday May 5 - Friday August 22, 2025.
  • ​Sound analytical skills, detail oriented, able to work with a high level of accuracy.
  • ​Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and candidates.
  • ​Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while using strong judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • ​Strong technical abilities with tools such as social media, basic IT trouble shooting, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ​Previous Talent Acquisition Experience is an asset.
