What you will do

  • Utilizing cutting-edge supervised and/or reinforcement learning algorithms to effectively tackle complex challenges in the 5G Wireless Physical Layer and Radio Resource Management layers.
  • Collaborating with experts to enhance and refine the performance of AI-integrated system-level wireless simulators.
  • Researching new software development tools and technologies and guide development by identifying and implementing approved new software tools and/or technologies in compliance with industry standard methodologies.
  • Contributing to Innovation and Ericsson Invention Disclosures and Patents

You will bring

  • Knowledge in wireless communications and machine learning.
  • Experience in Machine Learning techniques such as reinforcement learning, federated learning, transfer learning, deep learning, imitation learning, multi-agent systems, pattern recognition, classification, GAN, DQN, LSTM, SVM, random forest, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Transformers: Demonstrated understanding of Transformer architecture, its variants, and practical applications.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras.
  • Experience in data preprocessing, cleaning, and feature engineering.
  • Experience working with system-level cellular communication simulators.
  • Basic understanding of LTE & NR 3GPP specifications, especially in the areas of the Physical Layer, Radio Resource Management and Mobility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, interpersonal, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Capability to understand and propose solutions for new and complex problems.
  • Outstanding team player who can also work autonomously.

This position is based in Ottawa. We work in a hybrid work model with about three days a week in the office and two working at home, though this can vary somewhat.

This position reports to Product Development Leader.
