About the role:
Join the Facilities/Regional Operations Team, as a Senior Project Lead. This role is essential to ensure the seamless integration of the hybrid approach, particularly in relation to space management across all CMHC offices while fostering collaboration, efficiency, and demonstrating sound stewardship. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that our workplace strategy is future-proof and adaptable to changing business needs.

This is a temporary position with a duration of 24 months.

What you'll do:

  • Advise and consult with the team lead/ project sponsors and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and/or management on critical dependencies necessary for the successful delivery of projects, including recommended costing, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate a cross functional team, and various stakeholders, providing guidance, and enhancing performance. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and constraints.
  • Track and report on project expenditures, identifying any variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the project sponsor and/or business lead to develop a comprehensive project charter and detailed project plan, defining the scope, assumptions, constraints, deliverables, interim milestones, budget, timelines, and project team structure.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • This position will require occasional travel to project sites across Canada.
  • This position also requires time availability and flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.


What you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in business administration or other related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in establishing real property management frameworks or leading real property project portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of real property regulations and compliance requirements in Canada.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to project sites across Canada.
  • Availability and flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).

It would be great if you also had:

  • A PMP designation or similar project management certification.
  • A certification/ designation from a recognized body such as BOMA, IFMA, or RPIC.
  • Experience in real property within the Canadian Federal Public Service.
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
